The first impulse to create was a personal therapy, a description of conditions that could not be described in any other way than visually. Gradually, the experiences associated with the use of psychotropic and stimulant drugs, the subsequent medicati-
on and the final sobering up were added to the play. Drawing and painting became distorted in the wake of high school and college studies. Politics, reactions to events around me/us all joined the subjects. While studying at the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University, I devoted my bachelor‘s and master‘s thesis to this topic. At the moment I am mainly working on illustration and comics. Comics are a way of translating what I often try to fit into one format. Painting has taken a back seat, and rather than technically, I have started to pigeon-hole the individual works thematically. Comics are now dominant, especi- ally in my PhD studies, where political and engaged comics are at the intersection of research work. The main motif has always been and will remain for a long time the figure, its elasticity in response to the surrounding and internal climate. And to all this, a long-standing hobby - the preservation of organic materials and preparations, its stabilization and fixation - has found its way. The combination of empiricism and dreamcor, the use of exact descriptiveness to discern the indescribable. That which can only be felt.
Prvním impulsem k tvorbě byla osobní terapie. Interpretace stavů, které nebylo možné popsat jinak než vizuálně. Postupně se do hry přidávaly zážitky spojené s užíváním psychotropních a stimulačních látek, následná medikace a konečné vystřízlivění. Kresba a malba se v důsledku středoškolských a vysokoškolských studií roztáhla o další média, k tématům se přidala politika, reakce na dění kolem mě/nás. Při studiu na Pedagogické fakultě Masarykovy univerzity jsem se tomuto tématu věnoval v bakalářské i diplomové práci. V současné době se věnuji především ilustraci a komiksu. Komiks je způsob, jak rozvést to, co se často snažím vměstnat do jednoho formátu. Malba ustoupila do pozadí a spíše než technicky jsem začala jednotlivé práce koncipovat tematicky. Komiksy jsou nyní dominantní, zvláště v mém doktorském studiu, kde se politický a angažovaný komiks prolíná výzkumnou prací. Hlavním motivem vždy byla a ještě dlouho zůstane figura, její pružnost v reakci na okolní i vnitřní klima. A k tomu všemu si našel cestu dlouholetý koníček - konzervace organických materiálů a preparátů, jejich stabilizace a fixace. Spojení empirismu a snovosti, využití exaktních přístupů k expresivitě a vnější komunikaci nepopsatelného. Toho, co lze pouze vycítit.
